How To Keep Your Teenager Happy

If you want to have a happy teenager, follow these steps and you are gauranteed the best results.
1.       Don’t keep nagging on us to get our rooms clean. It will happen eventually.

2.       You need to understand that we are in our prime years of socializing and are never going to be home.  Don’t call us every five minutes to see where we are.

3.       Don’t worry about our homework! We always get it done at least ten minutes prior to class.

4.       If I want to sleep in on the weekends, then you better let me sleep in! No knocking on my door before 11 a.m..

5.       If we want to be lazy on Sundays and do nothing, then you better not tell me to get off my butt and do something! Sunday is the day of rest after all.

6.       You need to also understand that communication with our peers mostly takes place on our phones.  It would be best not to take them away.

7.       Reward us after we do something you asked us to do. Just like you reward the dog  every time she goes  pee outside.

8.       Don’t ask us questions about our day. Odds are it was the same as the day before.  How many times do I have to tell you school is boring?

9.       When we are mad its best to just let us blast our music in our rooms. Don’t come knocking on the door every five minutes to tell us to turn it down. It just makes us even angrier.

10.   When we want to watch TV we want to watch it in silence! Don’t come over and try to strike up a conversation. If you would just watch maybe you will find out what happens instead of trying to be all future tellers over here!

11.   I know you want to be a kid again but really you don’t need to ask me what I do with my friends. Truth is you would probably ground me if I told you and that is why I keep it to myself.
